This is the third report for Caring and Sharing from the Belgian
and Flemish L.C.I.B.
(League for Chronic Inflammatory Connective Tissue Diseases).
The Provincial Groups organize a lot of events. In the table below, you will find chronological data per province with events which have already taken place and some other ones still to come.
Two events were organized by this league (our League always gets invitations for their activities).
In connection with the Lupus Awareness Week, the National Day was organized by the Flemish League on Sunday afternoon 7 May starting at 2 pm. The theme of the day was: Clear Language between Physician and Patient. Dr. Dirk AVONTS who was the invited speaker gave a very interesting talk about the rights and duties of physicians and patients. He also explained in which way both parties can deal with this and how a positive communication can be obtained.
An article, summarizing the content of Dr. Avonts' talk, was published in the periodical of June afterwards.
In the second part, Dr. Michel WALRAVENS answered questions which had been sent in by people prior to the meeting.
All the questions and their answers appeared later in the September issue of the quarterly magazine (periodical).
During this whole afternoon, people from the different provinces were available for more information towards their members.
The Informational Corner was open for everybody with questions in general.
In the latest two issues, June and September, some interesting articles were published, such as:
