2. FLEMISH LEAGUE FOR RHEUMATISM

Two events were organized by this league (our League always gets invitations for their activities).

Can rheumatism be cured or is it something to live with?

2.NATIONAL DAY FOR ALL MEMBERS AND RELATIVES: 7 May 1995

In connection with the Lupus Awareness Week, the National Day was organized by the Flemish League on Sunday afternoon 7 May starting at 2 pm. The theme of the day was: Clear Language between Physician and Patient. Dr. Dirk AVONTS who was the invited speaker gave a very interesting talk about the rights and duties of physicians and patients. He also explained in which way both parties can deal with this and how a positive communication can be obtained.

An article, summarizing the content of Dr. Avonts' talk, was published in the periodical of June afterwards.

In the second part, Dr. Michel WALRAVENS answered questions which had been sent in by people prior to the meeting.

All the questions and their answers appeared later in the September issue of the quarterly magazine (periodical).

During this whole afternoon, people from the different provinces were available for more information towards their members.

The Informational Corner was open for everybody with questions in general.
