Editorial

I am looking back to our 8th Annual Convention in Pisa as a very memoriable event. It was a pleasure to meet all of you and I am really happy that almost all national organsations were able to send their delegates. Well, I think we all did a very good job at the council meetings and I do hope that the future of ELEF will be a good and long lasting one.

We enjoyed staying in Pisa and we would like to thank Giuseppina and her team for the organisation and help they gave us. We would like to dedicate a special thank you to Prof. Bombardieri, who welcomed us to the social events of the 3rd European Conference on SLE and also for mentioning our Convention and his kind words in the brochure of the scientific Conference.

You probably thought that there would be no more Newsletters from ELEF because you did not get one in October. Now you see you were wrong as the Newsletter No. 6 is in front of you and again it is a big issue. The reason for this delay is that we wanted to have all the reports of our convention in Pisa in this issue and not wait until April next year. The future publication dates will be June and December but you can read about this in the Newsletter.

With the same post you will receive the Register 1997.

The latest information on our 9th Annual Convention in Helsinki and the 3rd International Lupus Patients Conference are in this Newsletter as well.

Please, look for it.

Some time ago, I received a phone call from a young lady, who lives in Germany, asking if I would be able to give her the addresses of lupus patients who have had the same problem as her. I promised her, when she would send me a report about her problem, I would put it in this Newsletter and possibly somebody would answer her. I would like to call this report to your special attention. Thank you very much.

The INTERNET and E-Mail address will be changed by the 1st of February 1997. The old one is still in use for the time being.

The new addresses are:

INTERNET: http://www.elef.rheumanet.org

E-Mail: elef@rheumanet.org

Now I hope you will enjoy your copy of this Newsletter. I put all my effort into this issue to make a Newsletter which is worth reading.

I wish you a Merry Christmas and a good New Year with the best possible health for all of you.

Take of yourselves and best wishes

Rudolf Hocks
