20th January 1996 SLE and kidney involvement
Prof. Schneider explained in his talk in Dortmund the
variety of kidney involvements in SLE.
Accordingly he introduced the diagnostic methodes and
the therapies.
18th May 1996 SLE, skin and life story
Dr. Fuehrer explained the different types of skin involvements
with SLE and DLE and the psychological and psychosomatic
causes and effects of the diseases.
28th-30th June 1996 Seminar for leaders of regional groups
05th October 1996 1o-year anniversary of the German Lupus Group
Up to now we have 1.6oo members which means an increase of 1oo members
so far for this year. You have to keep in mind that the German Lupus Group only
have a voluntary workforce. We have now 54 regional groups.
In 1996 will be held 7 Workshops at various University hospitals throughout Germany.
In addition to this there are patients education programs - 4 evenings - running at
different University hospitals.
One Workshop was specially dedicated for children with Lupus and their parents.
On the 16th June 1996 we participated at the second Selfhelp day of the State
Northrhine-Westphalia in Luenen. There was a very important discussion with
politicians about the deletion of financial support for Selfhelp Groups.
From 17th - 25th August we have presented ourselves at the Exhibition "Active life"
with a stall, the same goes for the medical exhibition "MEDICA" which will take
place in November 1996. As this exhibition is visited by quite a lot of people
coming from abroad, it would be a good idea if we would have a poster of ELEF
and information about Lupus in English.
