Editorial

I have to apologise that this Newsletter reaches you almost two months late. As Sally-Ann, my wife, was seriously ill and had to be in hospital from the end of April until the middle of July, it was impossible for me to produce the Newsletter in time. Our family has had a very difficult time with lots of worries and sometimes doubts. All this time I went every day to the University-Hospital in Duesseldorf, about 25 miles away from our home, to see her. Sally-Ann has had a major operation in June and is recovering now very slowly. We just have to have patience but we are sure that in the end she will be her old self again.

This Newsletter has changed in appearance as you can see. We put the logo of ELEF in colour on the front page and on the backpage we put a draft of a poster of ELEF. Now we would like to know your opinion on the poster and we will discuss this subject at our Convention in Helsinki and will decide on the final version. By the way we were thinking that the poster should have an A2-format and will be laminated so it can be used at exhibitions and other occasions.

The drug DHEA is a subject again in this Newsletter. Other subjects are reports and information of the founded European Disability Forum -EDF-. Unfortunately I only receive reports just from three member organisations of ELEF. I hope in the next Newsletter I will have reports from all our member organisations.

A very warm thank you has to be said to Kathrin Gerber-Wirz. When she heard of my problem with Sally-Ann, she offered to check all articles on typing errors. Thank you, Kathrin, it was really a big help for me.

I am looking forward to see most of you at our Convention in Helsinki.

Till then take care of yourselves.

Rudolf Hocks
